I'm hoping to purchase an air compressor this weekend i have no idea about them and I'm seeing varied sizes and prices what P.S.I level do you guys/girls have on your air compressors? whats a decent amount and is it possible to have to high a P.S.I level ?

Interesting screen name, can we just call you Lox for short, lol.

Anyway, what are you wanting to do with the compressor? If you get a decent one it should have a pressure regulator on it, if it does not one can always be added. If you are going to use it for air brushing you WILL need one with a regulator, since different paints require different pressures.

Also pick up a moisture trap when you get the compressor

It's not just the max psi level but also how big the tank is. If you have a 135 psi max compressor but only a 2 gallon tank it will cycle more often than a 115 psi max compressor with a 25 gallon tank. When I clean my RCs I set the regulator to 85-90 psi, when airbrushing I'm using about 40 psi. Buy the biggest tank you can afford or have space for.

Yeah it all depends on it's purpose. If you just getting one for airbrushing and cleaning at the end of the day you won't need one as heavy duty as you would for running something like a nail gun or impact.

wal-mart has a 1gal. 100 psi for about 50 buck and u can adjust the pressure

Again, It all depends on what you are going to use it for but,You need to read this again, and then ask yourself the question again.

What size gallon tank would you recommend for just cleaning and some painting?

my first question is why is this in the revo forum

and now on to what i want to say

like someone said earlier i would get the biggest tank you can afford and have the room for. Cuz you might just buy it for the cleaning and painting but you will find 1000s of more uses for it then what you intended it for
