You may think from the start that I like my t-maxx, but today; it pissed me off. I went into tuning it with a good atitude and when it pissed me off I got mad. I would make adjustsments to the hsn but it wouldn't change any thing it would never stay running the second I let of the throttle it would die unless I just tapped it while it was decelerating. It had crappy take offs sometimes it would just rip and sometimes it would hesitate, the idle never stayed the same abveously if it wouldn't stay running. What am I doing wrong I myself think it is a air leak somewhere what do you guys think.

Sounds like you were running my truck today. I put mine away before i got upset. No I haven't found the problem yet.

possibly a air leak! if i was you id start replacing every o-ring and seal and tighten gaps and things like that now! i one time had a air leak in the carb and i replaced all the o-rings and it worked fine! also if you dont have the backplate or the glow plug sealed it runs like crap. ohh by the way somtimes dirt get between the glowplug, seal, and cooling head and you hav to clean it off be4 it will seal. GOODLUCK!

Air leak is a possib ilty( fuel tankY but also check the clutch. It may need servicing.

Well I was busy yesterday so I will try to get to work on it tonight; depending on how much homework I have, and could it be possible that the leak is where the carberator body goes into the crank case. Every time that I put the carb in it wreaks the seal down in the crank case; how would do you get the carb in without wreaking the seal down in the crank case.

Sry I still havent had time to work on it tuesday I was sick and wednesday I had stuff goin on; anyways I still havent got the seal kit for the engine, but I will let all you know when I get it.

So tonight I bought my seal kit for the ole t-maxx along with a brake and head gaurds should be here by haloween.:D

Well my problem was the transmission, along with clutch and spur gear. Luckily I had all the necessary peices. Now to foc the old trans.

All so you can try this,I had the same problem with two of trucks. What I did was take the carb off take it all apart on a clean surface take automotive brake clean and a tooth brush and clean every part with the brake clean and put it back together and it ran like a new motor again.

Okay well today I got all the parts to get this thing running good; hopefully, well I was going to run it today but I have got a big test in science tommorow so I have to stude I will get it out tommorow, I will post tommorow.

Okay so Thursday night I also had another big test to study for in health on friday so, hopefully friday night I will be able to drive it.:\

HELP. I need some serouis help I got it back together but now the minute I let of my throttle and hit the brake it chocks the motor out, so what do I do to fix that.

how old is your fuel? Is it in a ln a clear container? This fuel will attract water and the problem your having I had with a new motor.. Turned out that the fuel was bad

as far as the motor chokeing out when you hit the brake, thats a problem in the linkage.
take off your air cleaner so you can see the opening in the carb, turn your reciver on and throttle it up and down (WITH THE TRUCK NOT RUNNING!!) when you apply the brake there should be a small gap on the slide.. If not try to adjust the tension of the return spring (keep it on the loose side) It took me quite some time to find the right setup for this issue.. If this dosent work let me know I've had just about every problem you could possible have with one of these

Never mind I got it figured out I had a bent bellcrank rod and the idle speed needle was to far out.
