Ok so for last questions...
I'm not looking to always be spending but i was just wondering as for maintenance, do i always have to be like tkaeing things apart and adjusintg and rebuilding all the time I'm not good at that stuff thats the thing and i dont want to be paying for it to be done 24/7 so is this i car i should consider or no?
 
Nope, only if you buy hop-ups. This MT is very durable and comes great out the box. I would highly recommend the Savage X SS if you're looking for a kit.
 
Not trying to talk you out of getting one, but you will be fixing it.

Savage is one of the toughest RC's out there, but it'll break. Goes with the hobby. Don't let it discourage you. It's part of the fun.
Don't pay for someone to do it. Just look at the manual a bit. Pay attention when you tear it down. First time might be a little intimidating, but it will get easier.

i have a older savage and i have not the first complant about it the guy who had it befor me gave it all kind of you know what and it still runs strong to this day
 
I Love my Savage, it is very durable fast and has loads of power.

And don't let taking it apart intimidate you.

I have become pretty good at taking RCs apart, and I think I have become quite good at putting it back togather as well.

Those extra screws that you get after putting it back together can't be that important any ways right?


Anyways the Savage like the others said is a very good RC, but every RC can break.
Learn to fix them your self and you will almost be wishing it would break so you could fix something else!
 
I agree. My Savage 25 took a beating before I got it, and it still takes a beating. Working on them is actually very easy, and there are many shortcuts to get most repairs done in less than 20 minutes (if you're taking your time and enjoying a beverage of choice).

Given the choice, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.
 
Just a few months ago I would have taken to the LHS to change a spur gear or fix a bent shock.Now I think I have had everthing apart and back together(clutch,tranny,diffs,shock rebuild,repalced servos,receivers) everthing but the engine.I broke something in the tranny today and I am actually anxious to sit down and rip it apart to see what happened.Its a sickness,its an addiction,its R/C !
 
That's the best part of the hobby; you get to see how things work, and you also get to service them yourself.

Nothing like a day of bashing and breaking.

If your 'ol lady cooks like mine, the perfect ending for the day is getting a brew, ordering a pizza and taking it apart on the dining room table.

You know she won't cook because ya got pizza. She will probably bring ya another brew and not ask stupid questions because she wants "all those damn parts off the dining room table." You will have her walking by and giving "that look" every once in a while..... (you married guys know what I mean) But for the most part it's a brew, pizza and rc. If some nitro gets left on the table, makes me think she is getting better at cooking.

The Savage is one that you will work on less than any of them. But you are going to have to work on it.
More than likely you aren't going to quit running it until something breaks!
Don't worry about it. Look over the manual. http://www.hpiracing.com/manuals/pdf/867.pdf We'll help you. Take it apart once and the next time is a breeze.

Get the Savage and dog the hell out of it.
 
I've been taking mine apart and adding upgrades to it for several months now. I don't think there's a part left that hasn't been off.
Now I'm finding out that these things RUN too! That gives me even more to look forward to.
 
i have to agree with everyone above. get the savage, you won't regret it. out of the box its very capable and will take a severe beating. in the 4+ yrs that i've owned mine, i've only broken 1 arm, cross brace, bumper, tranny (this was an odd ball break) and a couple spurs. all easy enough to fix with just a few minutes time. adding a few hop up parts will only make it stronger and better.

in short, GET IT. if you get lost or confused give us a shout. thats why we are here.
