I want to order a larger cooling head for my 21BB Nitro Star. The problem is no one here stocks them so I have to import it. Is it worth the hassle or is the stock head good enough?

Stock head is good enough but if you decide to get one, Golden Horizons makes on that is rather expensive and cools good.

There are quit a few others out now too!

Run with a stock though, at least for a while, and see what you think. If you decide to upgrade the mill later you will be happy you waited. Otherwise its just going to be wasted money that you could be putting on a Picco .28 or the Hyper 8 port.

I lucked out. I have a basically new Megatech (SH) engine that has just been sitting around with no usefull purpose. I decided to investigate and found that the head fit the 21BB perfectly. I still kept the factory base piece but replaced the cooling fins with the SH one. Much larger and better cooling capabilities.

 Good Find! Dont forget the zip-ties. The Savage is prone to head damage so the zip-ties help.

Let us know how well it works out!

How? I am very curious? Why would a Savage Be Prone to Head Damage when a T-maxx isnt?

Yeah, they are. The rollbar is nice but it should really be closere to the engine. Even with zips the head still gets bent. Some of how easily this happens depends on the body you use. The pickup bodies seem more prone. I have a Bronco body that pretty much protects the engine but the best would probably be a full cover like an SUV body.
Oh yeah, I looked at the head and where you can place zips on the SH, I don't think will do much good. I may try anyway because I have nothing to lose but 5 zip ties.

What exactly do the zip ties do? Does anyone have any pics of where they go? I figure they help in the event of a rollover/crash, but how?

they dont prevent they protect u put them on to protect ur cooling fins
