Does anyone know of some "real" diffs I can put in my Maxx to get rid of that junk?

nice! I will order today. I have heard good things about RRP's gears so I will get me a set. I liked the T-maxx originally but the more I use it the more the Traxxas stuff turns out to be junk. So I'm on a mission to get as much Traxxas stuff off of my T-maxx as possible. I'm not going Super Maxx or anything. Here's what I have done so far... RC Raven screw set (Traxxas screws are made from butter) Hard Core skids, Traxxas aluminum chasis braces, RC Raven fuel lines, Dynamite Teflon sealed bearings, Hi Tech high torque steering servo, Proline steering kit, Traxxas FOC, MIP CVD's (was pricey but screw plastic drivelines), Proline Velocity wheels and Bow Tie tires. Next upgrade will be the Sirio.

Yeah thanks. We really should get togther Ed so we can bash. I'm thinking of maybe coming down that way next weekend. You open to it?

I went to a alum diff case to see if that would make a difference and it did I've only wasted one diff gear but heard of switching to the alum diff cases :coffee

The diff cases look nice but the gears inside the diff is what I personally dont like. They are heavy and crude. Although a tuffer outside will protect those stock gears inside thats not my problem. I wish I could get some auto sensing torsen type diffs.

how much power ?

i am going to install 1/8 th scale buggy diffs on my maxx i used rrp's gears in alum cases using diff lock grease and a spring to give it a limited slip action i completely shredded the spider gears and plastic cups using a ofna .25 the stock setup is just not meant to handle 2+ hp if you want "torsen type" diffs they have em for buggies and you could use those in a set of 1/8 diff cases:bling:

do I have to drill holes into my chasis to except the 1/8 diffs? I have a GS Storm Pro and the diffs are way bigger than the Traxxas diffs. How do I go about installing them?

unlimited engineering and trophy class rc are the 2 main places I've seen them i think they fit in place of the stock case w/ out any mods the rrp is a good setup but the spider gears and plastic cup become the weak link kipster makes hardened spider gears and an aluminum cup but they cost almost as much as the 1/8 diff conversion and I've heard some people used em then went to the 1/8 diffs anyway because they still had probs :smoke:
