Hey guys, first thing's first, I hope everyone had a great 4th. I also hope that no one was injured playing with fireworks as I was. I was given the task of helping with the show last night, which i find to be more fun that watching from a distance. I think my perspective has changed a little, as a mortar tube fell off of its base and fired a 500mg load that made a direct path into my lower left leg. I feel very luck that it wasn't my head because i think the blunt force could have easily killed me. After the shock wore off all i could as for was a bag of ice and a cold beer. :hehe: So I will be limping for a few days as the purple ring that is now forming around the welt gets darker and fuller. Here is a picture for your amusement.

in a few days thats really going to look nasty. you're very luck that you didn't take it in the head or crotch lol. it looks like you have a large lump on that also. take care.

ouch! did you read about the guy that blew his arm off this past 4th?

Ouch dude, a year or two I also got hurt from fireworks.. I was holding a roman candle and the damn thing backfired into my hand, and burnt the living hell out of me. My hand was black for a few hours. Then my mom put burn cream on it, and it hurt about 100x worse! Last night my dad and I too lit off a big show in my grandparents house down in Florida. We went on for about an hour, and had a few fans clap at the end of each cake. Everything was from Phantom Fireworks as it was buy one get one on saturday. We still have 2 boxes of 500 gram mortars that we got for free for spending so much. HHAHAHA

man, secure those bases as best as you can, I'm damn lucky i still have a leg

Looking forward to the pics as the bruise progresses.

Where was it when it peaked and blew?

It had bounced off of my leg and got about another 20 feet away from me, where it gave two other guys a pathetic little burn mark they cried about all night.. all i needed was the ice and a cold beer. lol

Ouch that mus of been scary! can't wait to see it later on. I had a smaller mortar shell nail me in my side when i was like 13, never cried so hard in my life, from fear and pain ahaha

Wow that is looing just lovely, LOL!!!! JK!! It will get worse before it gets better, hope you recover fast...
