is after run oil a must or does it not work because i hear from people that it doesn't really do nothin but then i heard from a person that it is a must so what is it a must or not

I swear by it. Helps to keep your internals from rusting. Keeps the engine lubed when you're not using it. That way it's not seizing or wearing prematurely...

I wouldn't opt for wd 40 no matter what traxxass says. Wd40 has a tendency to eat rubber seals like they're going out of style. I have no clue about it's effect on silicone seals but I'm not taking any chances.

Yup pick up some ARO you won't be sorry. I think a bottle of it is like $4.00 at tower and maybe just a little more at LHS. It will last you for years and this is designed specifically for nitro engines.

if you buy a $300-$400 r/c then just buy a $5-$6 bottle of after run oil and do things the right way just my :2cents:

I've been using WD-40. It's an excellent moisture displacer and will inhibit rust on the polished steel surfaces of an engine. (Water Displacement attempt #40 is where the name came from.)

I have found that the engine can be difficult to start if too much is introduced into the engine.

If you don't have a good ARO oil then WD40 is better than nothing.

i know this is a old thread but i have some questions about aro. do u put some in threw the glow plug hole or do u put a little in the tank, pull it over a couple of times drain it and let it evaprate? because i ve talked to some people and they said put alittle threw the glow plug hole but the blue thunder brand (i think its blue thunder) says to put it in the tank. and also if I'm using mine every day do i still have to use it everyday as to like once a week?

*Cough* *Cough* Dusty lol, It isnt as old as some of the other ones people have been bringing up.

You first have to run all the fuel out of the line, You then put ARO into the glow plug hole, and unless you engine manual says NOT TO then put a few drops into the carb. (With O.S. Engines You DONT put ARO into the carb). Not the tank.

Yes you do, but just a few drops. Better to be safe then sorry.

Don't put it in the tank! If the oil hits the rubber seals in the carb needle area, it can mess things up. Take off the air cleaner and drop a couple drops down the carb venturi. Take out the glow plug and a couple more drops there. Crank engine, or pull starter, or whatever, a couple times. My oldest brother has been using Marvel Mystery Oil for air tools and it has kept his OS Surpass 4 stroke (airplane engine) running for 10 years at least.
For my Savage SS, since the engine is a .28, I use one of those paint mixing syringes, I suck up some ARO into the syringe (about 1 inch of it), and squirt it in the carb, and the rest in the glow plug hole. Too much and the engine can lock up when trying to turn it over. Just 2 cents from a guy with no cents
