Are the Associated 3 piece stadium truck wheels sort of like bead locks in the sense that you dont need to glue the tires to the wheels? Be nice to be able to use various tires without always getting new wheels.

I didnt know they made any wheels that didnt need glue. Sure would be nice to have a set of wheels to swap tires on and not ruin wheel or tire.

yea, but don't race with the three piece rims, cause the tires wont stay on.

I haven't had any problems with the 3pc wheels but I have only used them on my T3 electric so far. But FYI the 3pc wheels are designed for 1/4" axles and will not fit 3/16" axles w/o drilling the hole and replacing the roll pin with a shorter pin.

Actually you're right, 1/4 is larger than 3/16 but the 1/4inch axles on the RC10GT are only 1/4 inch as they go through the bearings and carrier. After they get through the bearings the drive pin holds the shaft in place then the shaft tapers down slightly smaller than 3/16 for the wheel nut. Therefore you have to drill the holes out in the wheels for them to work on the 3/16 axles.

I did find out that I was wrong about changing the roll pin to a shorter pin. The standard pin will work with the new wheels. The one I couldn't get to work was an old 1 peice wheel for the 1/4 axles and it has shorter slots for the pin.

Anyway, slaped them 3pc AE wheels with on road tires on my losi yesterday and took it down the road in front of my house wide open and did several doughnuts with it and didn't have a bit of trouble (No Glue).

The only thing I did notice is on the front wheels, the bearings set closer together so you will need to run a short spacer on the inside of the wheel, If you run them on the Losi front axles.
