ae .15 idle issues

I went to start my team associated .15 engine and as soon as it starts it is at full throttle, even though the opening in the carb is very slight. I was wondering if it could have to do with me rotating the fuel intake around from its original position. Any suggestions would be great.

Hard to beleive it is reaching full throttle with the carb opening that small? Is it just idling real high? Post a pic of the carb, you could have a real bad air leak going on, try rotating the inlet back to where it was just to rule it out

Hmm'Did u move your inlet back yet and test

You didn't hook your fuel line up to the exhaust pressure port on the tank, did you? I see nothing attached to the fuel tank outlet. If you switched them around, you'd be pushing a lot of air into the carb along with the fuel.

Also looks like you have a lock washer under the HSN housing; that needs to be an aluminum or copper sealing washer.

i disconnected the fuel line and i did have the exhaust pressure line on . would an air leak such as one by the hsn cause it to run lean enough to where it runs at full throttle?

It might sound full throttle but I highly doubt its gettin into the 30,000 rpm range man, a hell of an air leak can and will cause an engine to be extremely lean and rev high

i will pull the glow plug and check it for symptoms of lean... it ran a couple days ago just fine although i only ran it a few minutes beforei had to stop.

Like deuce asked did you use a lock washer on the hsn?

no it is a regular aluminum washer

the glow plug was fine and actually very slightly wet with fuel so it isn't running lean.

There should be 2 of those washers. One above, and below, the fuel inlet nipple. Also check head screws to be sure thay are snug and make sure carb is all the way down into crankcase against the rubber seal.
