AHH... my ntc3 is giving me major problems. ok heres the deal. I took out the carb restrictor, ever since it accelerates when not holding on the break with the controller. its really ticking me off cause its not holding a tune or anything, my LHS thinks its the linkage, but the linkage was fine before i took out the carb restrictor, I'm almost sure that my idle is ok, can anyone tell me what i should do? to retune my engine or w/e. i used 30% but i just ran out, so now i gotta use my 20%. thanks alot... i just need a good tuning spot. turn wise.

SR

Put back the restrictor. The venturi is there to smooth flow of air. Yeah, it'll affect your power band bt without it, you'll experience tuning problems. The tuning "sweet spot" has been moved and you'll have to search for it which can be a tedious process.

Ya put the restrictor back in and see if that solves the problem, if not then it probably is the linkage.....sounds like it might be sticking.

When I had the RTR I did the same thing and removed the restrictor and found the settings were too lean. So before I did anything else I sealed the back plate and carb with RTV silicone. I let that cure for 24 hours and then retuned. I tuned the engine for the sweet spot; very hard to find. I found the idle actually to be the problem. Set the idle out a half turn and then retuned ...Voila. no bogging at low or high speed.

dude I'm also running w/o and exhaust gasket... can this mess up anything? only one run so far.

umm yes it can you may be having back pressure problems.

what does it actually doing?

it wont start now... umm i just went out there and it doesn't even start, but when it does.. it moves by itself, i have to hold the brake to keep it from moving. or of course hold it up by the handle, man this is really upsetting me. help.. haha, how much are gaskets, and will they break??? cause when i was taking the pipe off, the gasket broke, i wasn't even being hard with. thanks.

well a few bux I would imagine but thats all. it really does sound like you have an idle issue. GO buy the gasket and then retune. keep the idle screw in mind then work from there.

ok guys, i got new gasket, sealed up the carb and everything, still does what it did before, I've went back to factory tuning and everything, what the heck is going on, i thougth ti was the batterys, so i changed them... didnt work... good god. help me out!! this is pretty messed up. and i dont want to take it to my LHS cause they will charge me 30 dollars.

how confident are you in the hobby shop? maybe the best thing to do is to take it to them because they get to see it in person and they can see whats wrong. i can't believe they charge! the one time i needed help for my car they did it free.
