I just recently bought an Associated NTC3 from a member on here, and I'm having a few problems. I searched and really couldnt find any info on this, so here we go. I believe its a .12 due to the 12 on the side of the crank case. it has a rotary carb, and i dont understand the needles, its not like my OS .30 or my old rs4's .15. The AE engine has 3 screws on the carb. one's on the end, its a very very tiny screw, there's what looks like the highspeed right where the fuel line meets the carb, and then theres another screw, a small screw with a spring between its place on the carb and the head. Can anybody give me a little info on these please? It may help with a few other problems i'm having.

That is just your idle screw. The one up top is highspeed, the one in the middle of the throttle itself is lowspeed, and the small one inbetween is the idler screw.

thats what i thought...but the lowspeed is so tiny. and theres absolutely no pullback from WOT. i jave to hit the breaks to get it to go back to idle, and i dont even have breaks at full braking, its still seems like its 1/4 throttle

if i understood what you said...
-the 1st screw is the low speed needle..it should be mounted directly on your carb body, horizontaly
-the 2nd screw is the high speed needle...it should be mounted in that 3/4'' long neck where the fuel line goes in
-the 3rd screw is your idle adjustment ,it only controls your idle ..its the one with the spring
now.. -if your idle rpm is too low or too high you play with the 3rd screw
-if your throttle is unstable, weak or boggs at low to midrange rpm ,you play with the
2nd screw(try to find the factory setting they are usually pretty good i think)
-if your throttle is unstable, weak or boggs at higher to max rpm, you play with the high speed needle..this is the most common adjustment.

hope this helps

edit: wow it took me some long to write that i mised 2 post lolll

i have everything at factory settings. the idle needle did absolutely nothing, and the servo is weird where once you adjust it so that at neutral its the idle spot an brake, the thing rotates more and shuts all the way. when its like this and you give it full throttle, it only opens half way. when i apply the brakes, there isnt inough puch to get it to stop, so i guess I'm going to have to put a spacer in there to do that

You need to also adjust your low speed needle to get the right idle, I had this problem. If your servo is acting weird, it's probably defected. If the servo is fine but the placement is wrong, you need to adjust your servo arm placement.

I'm trying. i'll prolly just take it up to my LHS later and see if they'll help a bit

i had something bad happen today. i was going not so fast, i tapped a curb, it rolled and shut off...no its dripping fuel out of the exaust and bogging down at idle, and i havent even touched the needles. any ideas?
