You can run a pullstart in an AD2, however you'll need mounts, flywheel, header, and of course the pullstart engine. Might just be cheaper and easier to get a decent starter box off ebay.

I'm putting the kit together, I got the flywheel and the mounts and everything that goes on the crankshaft, will I see much difference in regards to performance between pull start engine and non pull start engine?

Also, will the stock exhaust that came with the kit work or will the pull start get in the way and I will have to get a new one?

It depends on the header. Odds on, if it curves "down low" and comes within a half-inch of the back plate of the engine (non-pullstart, of course), it will interferre with the pullstart.

You might see a little performance hit, but really, unless you are super-sensetive, you won't notice it at all.

I got the exhaust header where it curves down low, can I just buy another one?

Yup. It'll run you about $12, depending on the hobby shop. Tell them you need a XXXNT pull start header. Course, you'll need to know if it's the side (rectangle) or rear (round) exhaust as well.

Will non pull start be better in the long run or is one better than the other. I am still kind of new at this. Thanks

From personal experience, the starter box setup is better. It's a lot less work to get the car started; just align the truck on the box and press down. If you get the 12v gel cell (around $30 with a charger from tower), it'll provide a weekend of starts on a single charge.

Plus, when it comes time for break-in, it'll save your arm. Bigtime. A new motor can be rather frustrating to break in with a pullstart.
