Alright so I bought that Picco .26 about a month ago. It has a little more than a gallon through it, perfectly maintained, a couple small scratches on the head. I broke it in with the heat cycle method through 6 tanks.

I bought it looking for a little extra power. Little did I know that it would become a wheelie machine. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for wheelies, but when I take it to the track and can't get traction it's a little disappointing.

I had planned to take it out and switch it with the 3.3, then later on buy a new flywheel and clutch for it. I would have it for a basher engine, or just when I felt like breaking stuff. I haven't had any issues with breaking stuff due to the power but...

My question is if YOU think I would be better off just selling it and spending the cash on upgrades or a new RC, or something else altogether. I was thinking of selling it for ~150 dollars, maybe a little more or less.

Please consider your opinion and keep in mind that I'm pretty much always short on cash, so it's not being taken lightly :)

Any thoughts?

I vote for keeping and and practicing the art of throttle control.
At least you will will have the power on tap if you ever need it.
 
Well i don't know what kind of vehicle that it was in, but have you thought about getting an extended chassis and gearing it correctly. With the right gearing you could get it tuned to the point that the wheels barely come up to about an inch off the ground when you launch and all the power will be at the top end. I almost got the picco 26 maxx engine for my T-Maxx, but when I realized how much trouble I would have getting traction and breaking parts, I decided to take the money that I would have spent on the big block and buy a Savage so I could build something that would handle the power better. I'm going to put the OS 18tm in my T-Maxx, it's comparable in power to the 3.3 but they last a lot longer and they are much easier to tune from what I've learned from talking to people who had them.
 
It's in my stock (other than the engine) Maxx 3.3. Like I said the power doesn't break stuff it's just alot to deal with. I already have learned the art of throttle control but it's pretty easy to get out of hand.
 
Update: I installed the 3.3 back in the maxx. I used the 22 tooth bell rather than the 24 tooth I used on the Picco. It has comparable speed but the power is less. Definitely what I need at the track. I was only driving on 2 wheels since I borrowed the front driveshaft to put it on the rear. It handles worse for sure lol. But all in all I think I'm going to buy a new flywheel/clutch setup for the Picco so I can just mount it and go when I'm feeling destructive =devil

Oh, and richening the LSN fixed the idle problem that made me switch in the first place. It now runs at a base temp of 220.
