  1. Bashing
I fired up my 3.3 Maxx for the first time in a month.

Let me say, I have never felt such a rush. It felt so good to hear a nitro running again. Even before the first heat-cycle run was done my heart was beating fast and I was feeling the adrenaline pumping. Felt so good to have nitro running in my veins again.

Now THAT's what RC is all about :D Can't wait for tomorrow to come so I can get a few tanks through that engine and tune it up for my bashing session next weekend.

I ran my Savage hard for the first time today as well. It doesn't compare to the baja, but it sure was nice!! I know exactly what you mean, I'm glad to hear you got its heart pumping again. Congratulations on the swap and break in.

awesome man! can't wait till next weekend so we can bash together. i put alot of upgrades to the revo so we'll see how much competition i can give you with my 2.5R =]
i also know what you mean about starting it up for the first time in a while. i had my revo on its back for the last 2 days putting in some parts. i can't wait to fire it up tomorrow for the first time in a few days. GREAT feeling as much of us know here as well!
good luck with the break in!!

Nooooooooooo!!!

I think I broke it.

I was out driving it today. Got it running for like 30 seconds when it stalled. Now when I pull the cord it's hard to pull and I hear a loud clink noise. I think I may have snapped the con rod. Let's all hope and pray I didn't. Right now I'm waiting for it to cool so I can take it out and inspect it.

Thinking a little deeper I may have just broken the clutch and I REALLY hope that's what it is. Otherwise I'm probably screwed.

BTW, it only took me two short runs for the piston and sleeve to lose that "new" feel. Is that normal?

At least if I did I have a back-up engine.

Even if it's the con rod, if the culinder isn't hurt I think it would be kinda easy to fix, although I hate that happened to you with your brand new engine. Lets pray it's the clutch or something else! Good luck with!

Actually it wasn't new, Traxxas just put in a new piston and sleeve.

Either way I hope it's the clutch.

Like I said though, is it normal for the sleeve to lose its tightness within a tank? Because when it's warm there isn't much compression even though it has less than a tank through it.

A 3.3 chuckin a rod!!!!
Theres somethin you dont see everyday. Oh thats right, you do!
I have 7 cars with the 3.3 in them, and I have 3.3 mills in plastic baggies cause I just know I'm gunna need 'em. Good thing they're cheap to fix, and even cheap to buy.

Luckily the rod wasn't thrown, the piston was just sticking at the top of the cylinder. Even with the cooling head completely off and the piston and sleeve exposed it sticks. Up until then there is almost no pinch that you can feel :wtf:.
