A work in Progress... (PICS) (Updated)

This is my T-maxx, it's hard to believe that it's taken me more than 2 years to get it to hwat it is now (lets just say i've been on a budget and very LOW ON CASH :) ) Well anyways the t-maxx has a Blue/Black/Silver color scheme goin on. She just needs a few more aluminum parts and other stuff (ummm like tires) then she'll be done :) .

Hop-ups:
RPM Skids, A-arms, Bumpers (not shown), Monster claws rims
Trinity gas cap, bulkhead braces, steering servo skid (not shown)
RC raven skidplates
Traxxas Chassis braces
JT racing servo/engine mounts (not shown)
Stinger Pipe
O.S. .15 CVX

That looks hella sweet, Looks like your steering servo is falling out:clap:

Thanks guys, Next on my list are Blue XTM shock towers. I decided to keep my regular RPM arms becaseu i already have the stablemaxx rims. I need some new meats though, what kinda tires do you guys think i should get??? I've been thinking about getting some Imex swamp dawgs.

The Imex Swamp Dogs are sweet.... The foams that come with them are garbage though. If you want to do it right, pick up either the Trinity Low Roll foams or the
Racers Edge foams (prefferred).

True. I have the Imex J-Hawgs and the stock foams are terrible.
I put in the Trinity Low Roll foams as you have suggested and they are supa-firm!!:hammer:

Yeah, I think i might just go ahead and get the IMEX's. But if i go proline, how good are the foams with those??? I was thinking about getting some mulchers or somthin (then again $40 for a whole set of IMEX Swamp Dawgs then about $20 for good foams compared to $50 for Prolines probably with not so good foams to...). Now i'm debating again......get shock towers of extened RPM arms to i can run with the stock wheels. Do i really need those shock towers now...............??????? Maybe i should just get the RPM exteded arms...... .

UPDATED!!!

I've been on vacation so i had no time to work on my maxx. I was able to get some new Widemaxx RPM arms and slap on my black RPM bumpers. Still no new meats :( I finally had the chance to put everything together yesturday, but then i come to find out my steering servo is toast. Looks like that's another thing on my list of hop ups. Well here are some new pics......

I think it still needs a bit more blue (possibly some blue RPM towers and Bulkhead braces??...)

Looks sharp. I have two comments.

The stinger. Haven't heard too many good things about running the manifold and pipe in the fashion that you are. The problem is that in most cases, engines spit out extra fuel and oil. With your manifold and stinger set up like that, the only place for that stuff to go is back into the engine. Over time, the engine will flood or get bogged down. I can only say that it will really take some tuning to keep that from happening. Ask people about hydrolocking engines and the Stinger set up.

The aluminum skids. RC Raven makes some quality products, but if those skids are aluminum and you are a basher vice a racer...you will end up unhappy with them. I say basher vice racer because racers do not tend to have too many head on impacts, but they still could. Anyway, those skids will be subject to bending. Anytime you misland a jump, run into something head on, or take a ramp a little too fast, they will take a beating...as they are designed to do. The problem is that often times you have to remove them to reshape them. Too many times bending and rebending the skid plates does a few things. One it makes them weaker (metal fatigue) at the bend point. Two, the multiple times removing and replacing them as you repair them will cause the plastic bulkheads that you screw them onto to take excessive wear in the screw holes. Over time, those screw holes that hold the skids on will no longer work as they will get slowly but surely stripped out.

So while the shiney metal looks nice, I suggest either getting Titanium (if those are not already titanium) or going back to the stock plastic skids for the front and rear.

If this is to be a show truck, then disregard all of the above...as this truck looks really nice as you have it.

Looks great! How much longer is it going to take ya??? :naughty:

Sky, About the stinger, i've heard the complaints about them to, but have never had a porblem with backed up fuel. I've run the stinger for over a year and had great succes with it. No problems here. As for the skids, I hate them!!! I've already bent both skids and was able to bend them back with a mallet and a vice. I even stripped the threads on my aluminum chassis braces because of the skids. I might just pick up some Ti ones as you mentioned or go back to stock.

Team 17, how long will it take me?? I'd say a while unless $1000 dropped into my bank account for some apparent reason. Other than that all i need is a new steering servo and i should be out bashing again. Thanks for the comments guys.

i have the swamp dawgs and they work great the rubber is a lot softer and more grippy than the stock ones. i like them better than the mashers

is that the stock chassis? if so how did you strip off the anodising and polish her all nice and shiney?

Looking good.
The first comment I have is the same as SkyMaxx. The stinger setup is less than desirable form the performance stand point as well as durability. The first time you take a top or back shot it will be toast. Broken headers and motor-mounts are common with this setup.

As far as skids go Ill have to agree with Sky on this as well.
Mt choice of skids is different. You owe yourself to take a look at these. RC-Solutions Spring Steel I have them on my CyberMaxx and can't say enough about them. They also eliminate the need for front and rear bumpers if you choose. You can see them in my Gallery.

Foams are the most overlooked performance hop-up. I use the Trinity 3 part foams in my mulches and love them. They eliminate a majority of the roll from the softer and taller tires.
