I have a problem I'm hoping you guys can help me out with. I recently introduced my brother-in-law into nitro rc. He bought a used extended chassis t-maxx with a mach .26 mill. I helped him get it all cleaned up, put in some upgraded parts and it was off and flying like a bat outta hell. It ran well for a couple days. While he was running one day, he refueled and tried to take off and it would barely move. The engine revs high but you get no giddy-up. I've pulled it completely apart, all the tranny gears are in good shape. Front and rear diffs are solid. When I lift the wheels off the ground I can get high rpms, the tires swell out and it looks like everything works fine. When I set it down and it is under load it barely moves. And now I am asking for help. With all this nice weather its a shame to not be burning some nitro. Please help my brother-in-law (and t-maxx lover:D) get back to tearing up the terrain. Thanx.

Sounds like a broken clutch spring. Dive into the clutch bell and check it out. Happened to me a few weeks ago. No need to panic, lol ez fix.

You might also want to check the slipper clutch. It might've just loosed up a little after some hard use

You tore all that difficult stuff apart but didn't check the easiest things like the slipper and clutch? O_o

Problem solved!:D I found out it was something I never thought to check. The pad on the inside of the spur gear (robinson racing metal gear) was so worn down and glazed over that it was not grabbing the spur gear anymore. Oh well, you live and you learn. Thanks to all of you who answered. I appreciate the help.
