Too many options so you'll need to provide more info.
1) What is the motor you're using?
2) Is it the stock clutch-bell, if not, how many teeth are on it?
3) What are you wanting, a lot of low-end power, top-end, or something in between?

yeah, there is no "best" size. Just depends on what you want and what your engine can handle. What are you looking for in performance?

the motor is a 2.5 and the cluch bell has 21 teeth on it and I'm looking for a little bit more low end it has a 72 tooth spur gear on it now

I would swap our your c/b instead of changing spur. You'll get a larger change of perforamance by changing your clutch bell. Pick up an 18 or 19 tooth. The lower you go the better your bottom end will be, however your top speed will suffer as a result.

i have teh 18 tooth on mine and it is a wheelie machine i also have a 2.5 inmy maxx

it depends on how u wana up grade Performance or strength For performance U got a couple options, New exhaust, Motor Saver filter,or new motor, I suppose u could get a supercharger not sure if they make a diff tho, And for bashin u should deffinatly get RPM controll Arms for the front And RPM tru-trac Conversion For the rear, And aluminum Bulk heads and a Roll Cage, U'll be set

The diff Between A 2.5 and a 2.5r.. 2.5r has a blue cooling Head and it says it on the side and the 2.5 has a silver head and it also says it on the side i think teh 2.5r is ported out a little more in side(i think)

body

will a body for a new tmaxx 3.3 fit my old tmaxx 2.5 and were can i find so nice bodeis for it that will fit it

As far as the spur gear... I'm not 100% sure that it will fit. 99% sure but not 100%. I had an older T-Maxx (pro .15) with a 72 tooth spur and the pitch for the teeth was different than for any of the newer T-Maxxes. Most likely that spur gear will work. Mine didn't have those shoes in it... it had little red tiny erasure looking thingys.
As far as the body... the 3.3 has an extended chassis, so it is longer than yours. (will not work) You have many options for a body. if you want one that needs no modifications or painting look for one that doesn't say 3.3 or extended anywhere.

thanks for the help

what is a good site that i can find bodies for my t maxx any idaes will be helpfull
