  1. Bashing
Well, took the tmaxx out today for the first time in a while (my bud just got a slash so I went out bashin with him). Got her tuned up real quick and it was running in top form! Pullin wheelies left and right and running at a nice temp. After about an hour or running perfectly I realized that she wasn't shifting into second gear. At closer inspection I realized I lost power to my front wheels! Bahhh.

I took it home and ripped apart the front end. Just as I thought the four screws on the dif hub were sheared right off. Looks like another trip to the hobby shop. I still havent looked at the tranny, but I'm guessing I just stripped out the second gear or something.

I also gotta get a new front bulkhead, cause my aluminum one was all bent and twisted... Lovely!

Seems like every time I bring the beast out, something ends up breaking. I guess I was expecting the drivetrain to start going out since I upgraded to a Picco.

Anyone have any suggestions for the differential hub? Also a suggestion for a bulkhead would be appreciated as well cause it seems like the upgrade to aluminum didnt help too much!

was it an integy bulkhead? get a pair of the FLM bulkheads and thats all the aluminum you need on there. RPM plastic wherever you can put it and that should be it.

Its been awhile since i ran a maxx but i think gpm made aluminum diff cases. You go go with aluminum there too.

Lets see, if I remember correctly it was an Integy bulk head. I'm gonna go check out those FLM bulkheads now. Thanks for the suggestion. I also have been switching to RPM parts as the stock plastic breaks.

So the aluminum Dif cases are worth it? I was wondering if that would help but wasn't sure. Ill check those out as well.

Cheers!

So I looked at the Fastlane products... pretty darn sweet looking. Should I just go right for the hybrid bulkhead/dif case right off the bat instead of getting an aluminum bulk and dif case separate?

If you want bash proof stuff go with the Combo Bulks at the top of the page or the regular bulk heads about half way down, for the diff check out the diff cup at the bottom of the page, it's a machined aluminum one that has a modified ring that uses 3mm screws.....

Sweet, bash proof is what I'm looking for. Its a bit more than I was planning on spending (I'm dropping alot on my electric buggy conversion project at the moment) but I'm sure it will end up being the smart thing to do for the long run, especially since I have allready messed up 1 aluminum bulk. I think ill go for the combo bulk and the diff cup that you pointed me toward. Time to order it up! Thanks for the help!

Cheers
