Hey guys,

Was just bashing my savage a little bit and when it try's to shift from first to second it likes to start sputtering and almost die. I think something on my mid speed needle is maybe off. Although I am a little bit afraid to touch it. Also I can not seem to get it through one successful tank no matter what I do with tuning. It is not flaming out at high speeds but rather at an idle. I need a little bit of help here. I am running the 21BB with the S-25 primerless tank. Any help here is appreciated.

how hot is ur engine running at? also u may need to mess with ur idle needle abit

Don't have a temp gun at all so I can't tell what temp it is running at all. Well honestly today is the most progress I've made with the thing. I was actually able to make it about 3/4 of the way through the tank. Prior to this I was only able to make it through about 3/8 to 1/2 tank so I am somewhat happy. I dunno I almost think my carb is messed up. I have the idle all the way open even if I close it there is no difference. The low end needle is running a little bit rich since when trying to start it I have to open the carb at least half way if not all the way in order for it to start. ON the other flipside of this I got to run it today with the pro line road rage tires and man will that thing corner on the street. I am not even running 40 series tires at all. :marshall:

newnitro....hey bro..first off get a temp gun! it will be your new best friend ( beside the savage ofcourse) second is the motor just broke in or ?? I had the same problem on my 25 after the motor was broke in .it wanted to die when hitting second gear so i opend up the HSN about an 8th of a turn and it was fine after that..could be too lean on the HSN and running out of fuel ??? just a thought:cheers:

Guys I think this was just a sign from well someone that I do in fact need a temp gun and I also am going to be needing a new engine. Well first I should say nothing is wrong with mine except for the fact for the last two months I have had nothing but problems with it. The 21BB is underpowered for the truck anyways. I am going to be sending that one to HPI for the 25 and am going to be getting the XTM 24/7 or the Dynamite Mach 26. I have eaten three one way bearings over the period of this time as well. I just can't keep trying this motor. I have never had this problem with any other motor I've owned. Actually I have been able to successfully tune three motors now. I might be giving up a little too early I know but I want more power anyways. I will be getting a temp gun as well. Thx for the help guys
