hello, breakin in a new savage X...did 2 tanks with wheels off the ground and
just finshed doing the lazy lap at half throttle for breakin and a few things I'm wondering...
- even with throttle knob set low it still creeps away...do i mess with the idle screw?
-reving seems to slowly increase as she drives...is this a tunning thing? ...or a breaking in thing? have yet to mess with needles thats a tonight mission

like i said just few, sure i'll be back with more questions later...nitro is alot more fun than batteries, lovin it

thanks

See if the carb is closing enough should be about 1mm if its not adj the idle stop screw.:whhooo:

break it in get through about 5 tanks then start tuning, dont worry about it now mine did the same thing, turn your throttle trim down and the back off your idle screw a tad and that will do the trick.

ok....did another run tonight, those problems did level out...
another question, operatin temp is low like 160f, and bogs at top speed(which i think is still a beakin/tuning issue)...did NO needle adjustments, should i go LSN first...?

if you're only at 160 you need to lean the hsn just a little bit. your looking for around 200 when you're breaking a new engine in

stll workin on temp...should i take a reading with just a stationary idle....heat er up with a few runs then let it sit for a few mons for a accurate reading,,,while running...fins keeping temp cooler

You actually need to start leaning the LSN slightly to bring your temp up and start to improve your low speed driving while running the next few tanks.

We would rather keep any knowledge in the open so others will benefit from it, so here's the PM and reply:
up to six tanks now...in the field while driving with body off it doesn't seem to come up...put in on a box just now in garage and idled...maybe ran for 4 min and temp was 220...is that what I'm lookin for
Yes. Good so far. You're better off driving it around slowly, so if necessary lean the LSN a little more. Watch the temp carefully. Too lean will overheat.

k....sorry bout the pm...took it out for another rip, temp was up a little more than i wanted (with body on)...turned HSN back a bout 1/8 turn...will try again in daylight...not easy to drive in dark on city streets...one thing for all us newbies out there...wheelie a must, and may even buy a cage yet...these things RIP!!!!

k....one more thing a friend just bought a losi...i think its the lst xxl....anyway i wanna leave it in the dust...lol....is it a dream or a possibility???

ok guys another question....it was running pretty good i believe, with a half hour session yesterday....parked for about 2 hrs then tried to play again...would turn over, start a bit...take off glow plug and then just stop...wtf...tried again a few times and had to end up given her a little squeeze on the throttle...is this a too lean thing...temp was good about 230 ish give er take...HSN or LSN ????? stumped

oh ya...i did try changing out plug...was a little dark around the rim...maybe too rich???
