hey all, I'm new here so bare with me if its a simple problem i have lol. i finally got the hang of tuning my tmaxx and its been running great for about 2 weeks now and i play with it after work every night, but tonight it started off good as usual but after about 2 minutes it lost ALL bottom end and i mean all wouldnt even move. so when i got up to it to pinch off the gas i felt alot of heat comming off the engine. So one what happened to the bottom end and two why did it heat up so fast? i mean it was really hat, not smoking off the head or anything but very hot for just driving for a minute or two.

thanks in advance.

There's a possibility that you have an air leak somewhere in the system. It could be anything from a cracked fuel line to a cracked tank or weak cap seal.
Improper pressure in the fuel system will cause it to run excessively lean which will also make it heat up rapidly.

From the sounds of it your LSN somehow got out of whack, probably too lean. I wouldn't be surprised since all Traxxas engines are finicky and like to "de-tune" themselves.

There could also be an air leak. Check the fuel tank and lines for holes or cracks.

It would help if you got a temp gun. Take the temps from the glow plug, not the engine block.

ok guys, well actually my buddy also has a tmaxx 2.5 and his did the same thing for a while, he doesn't care what really happens to it so he just bashed it till it would run like crap then stop but all of a sudden it started running fine and now runs like it did after break in. i'll check those lines, and get back to ya. thanks.

ok, so i replaced the fuel lines, the over flow one (top one) had a nice hole in it under the heat sheild stuff, i didnt see any in the other one but i replace it any ways and now its not heating up but and I'm prolly wrong, it seams like it doesn't shift out of second, it runs good top and bottom for a while then after it shifts to second and i stop or slow down i dont hear it shift down and it has no bottom end agian. i tuned it abit but i wanted to ask yall first to see if i should be looking at something else.
