Ok, I got my center drives yesterday. so I'm installing my Crazy Nut Racing double disc brake and noticed that the second disc (away from tranny) is BARELY on the brake hex. It looks like it's halfway off. Anybody runnin these brakes and did they notice this or have any problems. I got it all installed now and everything seems ok, but it's still pretty close. Havn't run it yet though. oh. when installing the brakes...should the disc slightly rub the pads constantly? I got the pad screws tightened just enough so the second disc doesn't get out of alignment with the Hex but loose enough so the brakes don't offer any resistance to the drive shaft without engaging. They rub slightly though, I imagine that'll wear after the first couple hours of use. Any comments?

I cut the spring from ball pen and put it in to keep them apart and not rubbing.

thanks Hicks, very informative. I'm not runnin the stock Hex. I have one from RCAlloys. I think if I got the piston about 1.5mm shorter it'd be fine. what's the best way to take away material from that piston. just figure eight it on some sandpaper?

I chucked the piston into a cordless drill and then dremeled it with a stone while it was spinning. It's pretty much impossible to make an uneven grind that way.

I had trouble getting mine set up a while back. Once I got them set up right I found that the setup had too much braking power. Now I only use 1 of the CNR discs and 2 plates.

Better to have too much available than not enough.

You can always lighten your braking by putting in a longer piece of fuel tubing that's used as a snubber on the brake push rod.

I think I'd rather have the capability of locking the wheels up if I had to and just learn to control my brakes.

Servo throw adjustment is a nice feature here.
