Well, at about noon I was able to sneak away frome the wife & kid to start the breakin of my new OS .15 CVX Hyper. Earlier in the week, I had installed the Racers Edge Power starter, as to avoid the pullstart fatigue...
About 2 1/2 hours, 2 18v dewalt batteries & 10 Tylenol later, she decided to start. Now, I'm no novice to tuning these OS engines, so I was at my wits end. As I started my victory dance, I noticed the flywheel spinning in the wrong direction...8-0
The motor actually started going the wrong way.... It then clicked, I put the damn oneway bearing for the Power starter in backwards....

After fixing my screw up, and starting from scratch, the thing started on the first try. I was able to get 2 tanks through breakin before the sun went down. Seemed to be running pretty good, although rich. I guess I wont really know if any damage has been done till I run it some more.
Does anyone know if this is a bad thing to do? lol
Sorry for the short story, but I thought someone may get a kick out of it...:dumb:

No it shouldnt have damaged anything. 2 stroke can run backwards just not well

I can relate. I've put the oneways in my pullstart backwards before. It's easy to catch, though. The cord won't rewind.
As far as damage to the engine, I think the only thing that might be a cause for concern is premature wear to the piston and sleeve caused by all that cranking. If you used two 18v Dewalt batteries you were doing a lot of cranking. You may never see a problem with performance, but overall engine life might be shortened. Only time will tell.

Damn that would piss me off too! Well at least you got it figured out.... I wouldnt be worried about any damage. You were just giving it the wet lube treatment.....

Well, it's not really a good thing to do! I guess we now konw where you got your name from! j/k:devil:

The only damage I can think of that you MIGHT have done is to the bearings. When new, they must seat themselves. Running it the wrong way may have messed that up a little. I would say just go with it and do a full break in and maybe a little longer before you really get on it.

The bearing was never going the wrong way (its a one-way bearing) His engine was going the wrong way.

I'm not talking about the oneway bearing. I'm talking about the Rod Bearing/bushing. This needs to seat as well as the piston.
