How long will the picco 26 engine last ......(how many gallons if properly taken care of) but bashed pretty hard and fast and also how long will the wasp last..... also which engine is better and what mods need to be made to be put into a savage.... ?

No mods - and it will last as long as you take GOOD care of it. Watch the temps, ARO after every run, heat cycle the break-in with cooling at BDC, and store at BDC, empty ALL fuel before the ARO and you will get a few gallons out of it if done right.

whats the difference with heat cycling it to break it in and letting it idle then work it in????????? is the heat cycle better? make it last longer or what?

Also if i took good care of it and say i used a gallon or more a month would it last a full year?

12 gallons is a lot, but not unheard of.

Idling the first few tanks doesn't hurt and is essentially similar to heat cycling.

Well i think one summer would be fine for me actually by that time there will be another motor out lol unless it lasts longer thanks

I'm fairly sure that picco makes the wasp for orion. I've heard the performance is identical, but the wasp is maybe a couple of bucks cheaper.

the ofna/picco is the same mill as the orion wasp, they are just packaged differently. both are great bangs for the buck so to speak. all of the orions that i have seen have been about $25 cheaper than the ofna. both engines are 21 blocks and should bolt onto the savage.

Well right now I'm kinda thinkin about gettin a xtm 24.7 pro does anyone know how it is compared to the picco and wasp 26

i'm up to about 20 tanks on my picco. and i'm just now starting to feel the power to the fullest extent that i think it can give. although there was a couple of orings/airleaks problems down my road to 20, but other than that, i'd say go for it. tuning's a lot easier when you're not leaking air. make sure to use after run oil after EVERY run and it should last for many more.

I gotta catch up... finished the conversion with the new Picco Outlaw. I'm only about on tank eight cuz I can only run it on weekends now. Too dark by the time I get home from work. Haven't run it for two weeks.

I'm trusting this Picco to last a long time.

(Especially if I never run it, huh? Maybe I should give up my day job.)

I put a very light coat of lithium grease around the carb o-rings and an extremely light coat of lithium grease around the o-rings on the needle valves. I'm still very much on the rich side. So far my running seems to be consistent with no indications of air leaks.

When I punch it, it sure does get squirrelly. This engine seems to have "balls" written all over it.

No comments about the Savage. I've got a Maxx.
