i really dont like when they build shocks in that way, metal cap, with a plastic mount. i guess it makes sense for a weak point, but in my experience its a bit too weak.

hope you get it figured out! do they make full alu. shock caps for those?
 
I had a Ofna 1/8 buggy ,to me ,they really aren't for bashing ,that's why I got rid of it ,my issue was
blowing out a-arms where the hinge pin goes in at!

Those buggies are met for the track!

Yeah, a friend has sent me a link for the full aluminium caps. I'm passing a hobby shop today between jobs and they have quite a range on their website so hopefully I'll be able to pick some up there.
