I just got an XTM 1000 mah cell pack. And i ran it in my savage, and it only ran about 50 minutes, with a few couple minute breaks. Ihis normal for these to last only that long or what?

Savage 25
X-Cellerator

after a full charge, I can run all day and not worry about running down the batteries.

I charged mine for like 12 hours. But i will give it another shot. Thanx guys for ur input.

Does anyone else have anything else to say about these paks?

You may want to invest in a cheap field peak charger. You can get them for around $60+ I have experience using the Superbrain 959 and the 969 as well as the Intellipeak. Anythig more than these will be a bit of over kill. What's important is that you have a digital read out to monitor the charge. THe superbrains also have the capability to charge a single cell, which is good for your glowstarter.

I just realized that if you are doing a total of 50 minutes of run time, yeah ... a 1000 Mah pack won't be sufficient. I run a 1400 mah pack.

I also run a 1400 mah pack and can run all day. Diver6127 has got good advice for getting a decent peak charger. I use my Superbrain 969 Pro to charge my rotostart pack, glow igniter, receiver pack and transmitter pack without fear of overcharging or undercharging.

Is it bad if you hear a sizzling sound in the battery??
UHOH!!

O krap
That sucks, that must mean that i cooked a cell
Well, i heard that you charge it overnight, and that is what my charger sais, so i got maybe 6-7 hours of charging and i heard a sizzling, so i unplugged it and let it kool
Bummer.
It will be a good excuse for my parents to hook me up with a new better one. They didnt know that the one they got me was more of a bottom line

Are there any good 1400 mah packs that are somewhat cheap that you guys recomend? (I'm almost 16)
