Help I have a unique problem with my maxx. I was running and thougth that the cornering was a little sloppy so I pulled in for a look see... and while I spun the drivetrain in the air only the back set of wheels rotated!! So i go and take apart the thing to see what s up. dissassembled down to the differential in hand and it spun both sides of the axle and the driveshaft!! So I put it all back together and spun the drivetrain without the wheels on and they all spun around ,Problem solved right?? Wrong put the wheels back on and anly the rears spin and not the fronts!! HELP!!!!! Unit is stock drive train with integy bulks and pigyback shocks RPM a arms and RPM offset wheels(Claws) Any help suggestions appreciated.

You say that everything spins, even the axle where the wheel mounts on. But when you put the wheel on, then nothing happens. Right? Here are a couple of things to check:

--- Maybe you stripped out your Claws. Look in the back of the wheel to make sure that the hex hub is not stripped out.

--- If that is not the problem, try looking closer at the swing shaft (the shaft that the wheel mounts to). Check it to see if the insides are not stripped. Simply slide them apart to make sure they still have the grooves in them.

--- Also check the swing shafts to make sure the yokes look good. Sometimes they can strip out.

--- Finally, check the hole where the axle pin slides into. Also check the hex to make sure that is not stripped.

That's all the suggestions I have. Let us know what you find after checking those things. Maybe someone else can come up w/ some ideas.

Later...:mex:

Thanks for the suggestions. i will be busy for a couple of day s but i will check it out and post what i find then .

Thanks MaxxRunner

Found the problem. The 4 screws that hold the gear to the diff. housing that has the spider gears were all sheared off . Got it back together and will run later today.
thanks for all of the suggestions!

next time u eat some diff gears, IMHO i would get the Robinson Racing stell diff gear set. they work great, and no mods to make it fit.also they are only $40.

I've heard the gears that came out with the 2.5 maxx are better than the robinson ones....many people have said the robinson ones will actually crack. plus the traxxas gears are way cheaper.
