I bought some beadlock Weld wheels and Proline Big Joes 40 series tires for a good deal. I havent installed yet and was curious if these tires are going to be too big and hurt the perfomance alot or what?? If so, what would be a good spur gear and clutch bell gear to run?? It is completely stock as of now. Thanks for any help here.

Drop the pinion (clutch bell) a tooth or two, and you'll be good. You will loose some top speed. I have Big Joe's on my max and love them. Try it stock and see how you like it!
Have fun!!

I installed the moab xl and had temp issues with stock gearing.40 series are super heavy. I dropped 2 teeth on my cb and still had temp issues. So I went a couple lower again and adjusted the tranny to shift a bit earlier and was dialed. Never ran over 215 and I BASH my trucks hard. The only thing is, I had problems with my axles, stock axles and steel as well. I LOVED the handling but ended up goin back to stock and haven't had a single problem. I would not recommend running 40 series if u drive on nasty terrain(big rocks, bumps). I never had a problem with them until the goin got tough. Good luck
