I know people have posted many forums using the word spider mod but this is different. I do not have my savage yet(only 2 more months:p: ) Anyways i have herd people say you have to do the 4 spider mod. I dont know how to do this. If someone could please next time they have their truck apart snap some before and after pics of the inside of their diffs.Beforer=stock.After=spider mod.

Thanx Bandit

thanx a trillion, that was exactly what i was looking for:dance:

No problem. Just watch out for the paper gasket when you take the diff apart. If you damage or loose it, your diff will leak once you put fluid in and put it back together.

Yup. I managed to damage mine when I completed the mod. I would suggest buying new ones and replace them while your that far in. It will save you some grief down the road.

Can someone place a towerhobbies link for all the parts you need? Oil to.

Thanx

Thanx

Kyosho Pins You only need one of these.

HPI Bevel Gear Set You need two of these.

I also suggest taking a close look at your diff gaskets and replacing them. Unfortunately the only way I know to get the gaskets is to buy the diff case set.

I am running 5000 in the front and 3000 in the rear.

Sadly Tower is out of everything except for the oil. But that at least gives you the part numbers.

You could check the Savage-Central store or eBay for the necessary parts.

I put new gaskets when i did the mod but still can't keep the oil in the diffs. anybody got any ideas as to how to keep the oil in it. i will run about 4 or 5 tanks and the oil is gone. i am thinking about put wheel bearing grease in it but i heard it might be just a tad too thick.

Thanx for the part numbers. I wont need those part for at least a month.

Thanx again

Mudbug,

I've got quite a few tanks through mine after the 4 spider mod and no oil leaking out yet.

Is it possible you filled the diff case too full? What weight are you using?

use sillicone or gasket maker thats what i allway's use to seal everything up i also use the stuff to waterproof servos failsafe recever ect hope that helps

Do you know if the Kyosho MP7.5 Bevel Gear Set will be a direct fit to the HPI diffs?, my local hobby shop sells Kyosho only.
