ARE THERE ANY DISADVANTAGES TO DOING THE 4 SPIDER MOD?
I WAS TOLD THAT ITS NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR ON-ROAD USE. ANY COMMENTS?

4 spider mod

The 4 spider mod is a must for all monster trucks. Ofna makes the parts you will need. They even have heavy duty ones.

spools

I have a spool in and yes you will snap something if you run your slipper tight or locked and jump a lot. It makes the truck pretty radical though. You can pull wheelies on one rear tire. I am going back to the 4 spider mod though...it just isnt worth it to me.

Spools? I have no idea what you are talking about. Is there any way around that?

a spool locks both rear tires. like a detroit locker if you are familar with trucks. the lsd transfers power where the spool just spins both but makes the truck not want to turn. a spool is awesome on the straight for drag racing.

Spools dont come stock. Its a mod you would have to do. They emit the same power to each wheel at all times. Spooling the rear is good for off road applications ONLY. On-road with spools causes excessive tire wear and poor handling on turns. If you spool the front, you can't forget about high speed turn handling all together.

Spools are great for slow speed ultimate obstacle climbing and sick off-road drag racing!

I have a spool in the front and a 4 spider setup in the rear. Having the spool in the front increases forward bit, like above, not really for on road use. Great turning ability on the tight tracks around here. Most tracks around here are setup for buggys and ST's.

Thanks for the feedback I think thats a little out of my league "for now", however, I'll still do the 4 spider mod!

I've heard a lot of talk about the 4 spider mod, but what doe sit actually do? can anyone school me?

You will need these & these both you will need times 2 and you will need some good diff lock fluid not, lube but FLUID. Asking for lube can cause great debate at the LHS and it is not good. I have done this conversion and am very glad I did it. Anyone running even the stock 21BB should do this conversion. My truck was the stock 21 and I had to start over and buy new diff cases and everything as my diff cases were stripped
