I'm a big fan of any type of starter that doesn't involve me pulling a string but the 4.6 started so easy I never took the roto start out of the box. A couple of easy pulls to prime and never took more than two pulls to get it going. Might want to give it a try before spending the extra $$ on the starter. Just my

Ed, I agree. I tried using the Duratrax starter set-up on my brother's 4.6and tanked two OWB's before I got it to work. I don't reacall Duratrax having a 4.6 backplate, but we tried the S-25 set-up and it was more hassle than it's worth. Just threw the pullstart back on and, although I hate pullstarts, I've never had a mill start so easily with one! Even new, it wasn't the knuckle-buster most usually are.
this is what I used. it is designed for the k4.6 engine. I have one on my Savage SS 4.6. I use the duratrax kwik pit starter, since it has a lot more power than the hpi one.
