4.1 and 4.6 - How to Tell the difference?

bought a savage x - listed as a "25 engine" but fortunately the bloke didnt know what he was talking about so we got it for £110 (lol). I know that it is either the 4.1 or the 4.6, but how to tell the difference? Thanks, Danny

the HPI savage 25 has the 4.1 in it. this engine is .25 and will say .25 on the engine case. The savage X has the 4.6 engine (.28) and will say just HPI on the side casing. But saying that there is the F4.6 and the K4.6. I'm sure these have different cooling heads. The F has the round cooling head and the K has the not so round cooling head, sides missing. LOL.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. Hope this helps.

well this engine has sides missing so if it is a 4.6, guessing its a k, thanks for the help :)

The K4.6 has a midrange needle on the carb as well as the hsn and lsn. the F4.6 only has the hsn and lsn.
