Hi,

I need some help from someone who has installed the 3-speed upgrade kit on to there Savage.

I've got to step 9 and I'm either missing part 77054b (spacer) out of the kit or being a dumbass and can't see it from the 2 speed.

Can someone tell me if it was included with the kit or if its a part you have to take from the 2-speed.

any help would be great!!!

Thanks,

ok...I'm a dumbass...push it out of one of the gears

I have to say tho...these instructions suck...well thats my excuse anyway

Your not the dumb ass ! The HPI guy that spent atleast 20 seconds designing that 3 speed gets that title ( I love that second gear adjustment) Anyway I have one and I'll see if I still have the instructions I'm pretty sure I do and If I don't I have to get about a 1/8th more turn on my second gear which means complete teardown. I don't remember the part in question but I will soon and let you know. BTW I don't mean to bash HPI The Savage is a very good truck

It's in the center of the plastic spur gear, you have to knock it out. I was stumped for about 10 minutes too on that since the spacer is shorter than the original.

That should be your only hangup. The rest is pretty easy going...

HTH...

The only other problem that I had was fitting that gear over the reverse module (can't remember part number, and I'm at work at the moment)...seems so tight, almost like I have to tap it onto the shaft...starting to think I'm doing something wrong there...
