Aight guys, here's the deal. I have a big-block Maxx running a Mach .26 with stock gearing. I've done an RRP FOC with stock slipper setup and clutch.

Problem is, I can't keep a clutch in this thing.........it slips.

I fire it up, drive it around kinda easy to get the engine up to temps then peg it and it revs up but doesn't move.....lol.......I've checked the slipper. You can lightly hold the spur gear and peg it and it revs up but doesn't really try to pull the spur out of your fingers. You can feel a slight little "tug" but that's it...............not nowhere near what it should be........

Here's what I want to know......who makes a good 3-shoe setup that's NOT got aluminum shoes? I've thought about using thee Savvy setup but I don't think the shoes will fit under the Maxx C.Bell..........any thoughts or ideas will be appreciated.........thanks!

hpi & onfa make the 3shoe clutch.......i use the onfa brand myself (better clutch shoes for racing or extreme bashing).........the clutch bell i use is the hpi........if you want to use hpi shoes & think they wont fit, you can file them down easily with a dremmel tool.......i had to grind down the outer edges of the onfa shoes where they would work with my clutch bell........if you do that, just make sure you take the same amount of material off of each shoe so they will be the same size.......if you dont they will be unballanced & wear out the cb bearing and/or engine berrings........

I ran Mugen clutch on my Old Savvy. Why not try that set up? Aluminum clutch shoes.and 1.1 springs. Great power delivery.

I've used this clutch with a big block and didn't have any problems.

Have you tried sanding the inside of the clutch bell to rough it up a bit?

talkin to me?

I tell ya', I feel stupid..........

Went out this morning and tore it back down......only to find that I had installed the shoes "trailing".  Re-installed them "leading" and it's working like a charm......

I'm still going to go with a 3-shoe clutch in the very near future but hopefully this will get me through today......

Thanks guys....
