Hi,

1. My Picco came with a 2 channel radio (so no reserve mod.) and i was wondering, is it worth getting and reserve module? If so can you post a link to where i can buy and 3 channel radio and the reserve module because here in Australia they dont import em :devious: :(

2. I'm justtin breaking mine in at the momment and was wondering when it gets to full protention will my savage be popping wheelies all the time cause i dont what it all the time cause i wont be able to go fast cause it keeps doing em, is that correct? If so what should i buy to stop making it do so many? (Links please).

3. The only reason i would get a SS is that it comes with ectra gears with diff spurs etc for diff terrains, Would these gears and other quipment sold with the SS become avilable late on for sale withput having to buy the SS too?

Thanks

1. You should be able to find a good three channel radio at just about any on-line Hobby Shop, and I would bet that somewhere down under there is a LHS that carries them. The reverse module is a matter of preference. I would say that it is not worth getting (my personal opinion), but others would disagree. Either way, Tower Hobbies has the Reverse Module here:

http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXDSD1&P=7

And they have several radios...you can run a search on their site. I recommend tha HiTec Lynx 3D or the Junior Racing XS3, but there are several good radios out there.

2. There have been quite a few good discussions on this site with respect to getting and getting rid of wheelies. I suggest doing a search on the term wheelie within this section and the forum in general. You might find your question answered.

3. HPI has been pretty quick with their Savage product line. The answer to this question is yes, but I could not tell you dates when each piece will become available. You could go to their site and look around if you want.

Hi,

No, none import the 3 way radio or reverse module :depress: , What would some one with a reverse module use it for (ill see if i need it that way)?

Thanks

Most of the poeple I hang around with have removed the reverse. Less rotatating mass and less weight = improved performance.

I run the reverse module, and the answer to a slight loss in power is more power. I'm also running a Picco .26 and it has no problem with power.

If you're gonna bash, I'd reccomend the reverse mod. It's just cool to be able to drive it like a real vehicle, and do stoopid stuff like going over jumps backwards and crazy stunt driving. If you're gonna race, forget about it. Most tracks don't let ya use reverse in races. It's all personal preference.

Wheelies, it's all in the suspension setup and the proper application of power. Sky clued me in on the setup. Soften the rear springs (less preload), and stiffen the front. Crank down on the slipper and tune the engine so it goes from idle to redline in a blink, and there ya go, instant wheelie. To get it to not wheelie, do everything backwards, stiffen the rear, soften the front, loosen the slipper a tad and ease into the gas. Works for me.

Whitt...

I used to think reverse was the best thing since sliced bread however after using rc's that don't have a reverse I rarely miss having reverse. If you really are hell bent on getting a reverse module then go for it. You can pick up a good 3 channel radio for under $100.

Yeah, I have one, but lately I've been using it less, but it is still nice to have sometimes. Like when your savage is sitting on the rear bumper, a little reverse and it's on the rubber. It happened a few times at our bash EP.

Hi,

I've decided not get one at this momment, to much trouble getting it in to Australia, if i really need it latez ill get it. Also is it hard to install a 3 channel radio?

Thanks

Cyber Phreak

Not really, just swap the Rx, make sure the servo lead polarityies are correct and put in the third servo. No problem.

Hi,

Thanks, also does the type of radio u have make the ranger better?

Thanks

Generally speeking, 27mhz isn't as good as 75mhz, AM not as good as FM, and PCM rocks. But I have never had a problem with the stock radio in my savage and it's 27mhz AM. The 27 band has fewer channels to choose from, so going with a 75 will decrease the likelyhood of someone else being on the same channel.

Generally speaking, what Error says applies; however, in some overseas areas you are limited to what band you can operate your RC in. Check with the local hobby shop to find out what your frequency limits are. If you can operate in either AM or FM then go for the FM radio.

As far as range is concerned, antenna height and power out are bigger factors in determining range for your radio. Since most of these radios operate with the same power characteristics, make sure you get one with a decent antenna. Also make certain that you do not stuff the receiver antenna down into the box; run it up its antenna tube or support and let it also have some height.
