Could this be because it might still be running rich? Before I started tuning it it wouldent even shift I to 2nd gear. After I got it to shift into 2nd I just kept it there and went bashing. Would it be safe to lean it out some more? If I hold my finger in front of the exhaust and it gets wet is it safe to lean some more?

If you are still spitting unburnt fuel from the exhaust then it needs to be leaned out a little more. Running overly rich can be jsut as damaging as running it too lean. I would suggest you get a temp gauge and keep the temps between 250-270 degrees.

That temp range is with the body on. Also you might want to tighten the slipper clutch up a bit. Usually I tighten mine all the way down and then back it off 1/4 turn.

It lessens the amount of slip on the spur gear so that more engine power is tranfered to the transmission and then to the wheels.

how long in gallons does a properly set slipper usually last cwal? i usually strip or cook mine so i was wondering what they last when set right lol.

Well I have about 8 gallons so far on the spur gear in my savage XL and still going. I have replaced the slipper pads twice but still using the same gear.

Adding more pre-load to the rear shocks will also help with wheelies if that's what you're after. Rather than absorbing the power in suspension squat, it is transferred to upward motion when the rear shocks can't compress any further under the engine force alone.
