I used my revo yesterday and it worked just fine, but i come out today and it wont upshift. I tried messing with it making it shift sooner and later, but nothing helped.

Anyone know what is wrong with it??

Thanks alot!!

Everytime I've had a problem with shifting, it's been the motor being out of tune. If you've tried changing the shift point on the tranny, you can try tightening the slipper clutch. Sometimes the shoes get glazed over and when the motor hits the higher rpm's, it slips too much, not allowing the tranny to shift. If tightening the slipper doesn't do it, you may need to retune the motor a tad.

Did you change anything from yesterday? I personally have gone through that part that makes it shift 3 or 4 times, but when mine would mess up it would get stuck in second gear and wouldn't go into first unless I power slided it so that it ended up rolling backwards for a few seconds. Then I would have 1st gear for a second or 2 (untill the next time it shifted)
The shift point totally depends on how fast the wheels are spinning, not how fast the engine is spinning (RPMs)
If I understand correctly you are stuck in first? In that case you would have to turn that adjustment screw counter-clock-wise (loosen) Of coarse this would be after you tighten the slipper clutch. You would notice the engine at high RPMs and the truck not going as fast as it should be, if that's the case (slipper problem).

i try to keep the engine around 240. I did try turning the shift point on the tranny, but that didnt help. I will try tighting the slipper clutch
thanks alot
ill see if that works

I will say 9 out of 10 times a change in shift point is a tuning issue. Right away people want to adjust the shift point. The shift point doesn't jsut move by accident its normally moved by changes in car performance overall. You have to check your tune first or drive train issues. Also have to be careful adjusting a sooner shift point because by turning the screw counter clockwise you are loosening it, which means if you back it out to far and the spring comes out now you gotta tear your tranny completely apart and reassemble it which can be a MPITA.

I figured it wasn't the shift point. I did tighten the slipper clutch bolt, and it helped. My car did shift up, but while warming it up it started to rev extremely high. Once i got it shut off the gear on the slipperclutch was stripped flat. I put a new gear on it and it dosnt want to roll backwards freely. I also took a look at my clutch and it looks a little purple, as if it got really hot when it stripped that gear. I think that the clutch is out of it. Anyone know what could cause the gear to flatten like that. And how to tell if my clutch is bad?
Thanks alot

The spur gear gets stripped when the 'mesh' between the black gear on the slipper clutch (which is called the spur gear) and the clutch bell are not mated properly. You'll need to loosed the 2 long bolts on the bottom of the motor mount and adjust the engine. Buy a couple of the spur gears, it's good to have a spare handy. There are several videos on YouTube about adjusting gear mesh, too tight or too loose will strip the spur.

When you say 'it doesn't want to roll backwards freely' are you talking about the Revo itself? I'm assuming you are and that is another indication that the mesh could be set too tight.
