Can anyone suggest some good bang for the buck performance mods for the 3.3 REVO ? (Aside from a whole new engine). ie pipes, filters etc. and what brands. My new REVO is fast but I'm thinking with a few extra bucks I can make it even better. I am fairly new to Nitro. Thanks.

A THS pipe will make that trx 3.3 really run. I would also seal up the engine it makes a difference on most trx engines (Lots of how to write-ups in here). Get a proline air filter they're about 10 bucks on ebay. Make sure you're using medium plugs, I use O'donnell #77 they work awesome and last long. Stay away from aluminum stuff and get rpm arms and axle carriers to toughen your rig. Also if you have an e-z start, get a pullstart, a seperate glow ignitor and get a forward only for the trans. Losing reverse and e-z start will take off almost half a pound! Go to "revo backflips 6 in a row" on you tube to see all this stuff work.:D

I would recommend a Motor Saver filter instead of the ProLine unit. If you do the Forward Only Conversion (FOC) you might as well put in the center differential and the rear brake on at the same time. The THS pipe is the a great inexpensive upgrade as well.

I hated my motor saver, but since I had mine I've heard they got better. And I guess it depends on what you're doing for a center diff. If you're bashing you probably don't want one.
 
also, get the red aluminum turnbuckles and pushrods, they are lighter and stronger. . .and they look a hell of a lot better on there too. I would rebuild the shocks with some higher weight oil, i run 40wt in all 4 of mine and it really stiffens them up and makes smaking the chassis almost a thing of the past off of jumps. STAY AWAY FROM INTEGY!!!!!! their stuff looks cool but its all junk. Get a wing and wing mount it acts as a wheelie bar when it stands up on end, you can use it as a carrying handle when you are done running so you dont have to reach through the body near that hot engine, makes in handle alot better in the air, and it looks cool. Bear in mind these are just suggestions

How are the wings in a crash? I didn't want one because of high speed wheelies and crash breakage.
 
My wing has held up in some horrendous crashes as of the last two weeks. I have broken my body, motor mount, ez start motor, front bulkhead, rear bulkhead, and blew out the rear differential. The wing and wing mount held together very well and protected the top of the cooling head. All I have had to do to the wing is tighten up the bolts. The wing is a good idea.

They are great, i have had no issues with mine. . .i had my revo at full bore and i hit the brakes, and it decided to front flip and smak the ground on its lid and slide, keep in mind it was probably doing some where in the neighborhood of almost 50 mph. . .and the only thing it did was scratch the hell out of my body and grind the wing down some, but it completly protected my cooling head on my engine, if nothing else its a little bit of insurance
 
I ordered up a THS pipe a motor saver filter and a wing to start. Thanks for all your suggestions !

No high speed wheelie issues? I'll be going at least 50 as well.
 
Nope not at all, they hold up very well and like i said before they act as kind of a wheelie bar so it doesn't flip all the way to its lid
 
I actualy have replaced the hardware that holds the wing mount with longer bolts and nutted the bottom. I had them pull out of the mount once on a hard hit, or tumble.
 
thats a pretty good idea. . .considering the fact that you are threading into plastic, good tip. . .:goodpost:
