Are there any upgrades I can install if I decide to rebuild my TRX 3.3? Since I am going to replace the engine with an OS .18 I want to try my hand at rebuilding the 3.3 for the heck of it.
I want a drop in OS engine so I was considering the .18 cv-rx. Is the power still going to be there like with the 3.3? My reason for the OS is the ease of tuning that I keep reading about.

This is concerning a T_Maxx

thanks

just take the 3.3 and toss it or use the exchange program. usually rebuilding them you can get a new 3.3 cheaper by the time you buy the piston sleeve and new bearings for the block

thanks ; but....

I can get the parts of ebay from a lhs for $90..piston/sleeve, rod and bearings. i plan to purchase a drop in OS motor for comparison and trial reasons. i plan to rebuild the 3.3 with a stronger rod (not included in the prices ubove) and any other mods for the sake of saying I did one. if I only run traxxas how can I form my own opinion on the OS vs Traxxas tuning and reliability thoughts.

dont downsize the motor u wont have as much power plus the engine replacement plan only costs like 110 dollars compared to the rebuild of 150 but u can still buy a new motor for that
