I have a revo platinum it had the 3.3 in it but last weekend it stoped i had broke the connecting rod and the piston was gone to i think it over heated due to the pipe spring coming off. but now i need to make up my mind on what engine is next rb 523 or a os 21 i just use the truck for bashin with mates need to know the ups and downs on the engine. THANK YOU

You could always take advantage of the Traxxas Engine Replacement program and trade yours in for a new 3.3 at a huge discount. If not the O.S. is a slick upgrade.

i looked at the Traxxas Engine Replacement program but i think i want more go my mate has the rb 523 and it goes hard but not to good for tuning and i'm going to fix the 3.3 for a spare

my ofna car did the same thaing if the car isent to old they might replace it for free ofna did for me. i know traxxas is pretty nice

What kind of "go" are you looking for? Top end? Low end? If you want Top end, the OS 21 isn't going to be much different from the 3.3. It has gobs more low end though. If you want a ballz out engine, try the Picco .26 Max. It's a rocket. I had one in my race revo for a bit and took it out and put my 21 back in because the Picco was just to much on the track. Or hook up with an RB mods 18TZ it's every bit as powerful as the Picco, but it's lighter and in a smaller package.

Good luck,
Curt

+1 on the picco. i have a rbmoded picco reddot .26 and omg its fast. :) from what I've heard the tz would be a better choice if you want a sb. it would be better for racing and you can't beat the price. 149$ tz(p) and 169(tz(tx). the good thing about the tz is the tranny and diffs hold up alot better than the picco. i went all rrp steel gears. it costs alot but its well worth it. :)

Me too !

dude i just came in from a bash session and i just sent my rod thru the bottom ! the rod split in half also ! i think this is some kinda mechanical failure from traxxas! if you saw this bomb explosion something went majorly wrong . it wasn't lean either ,its about 65 degrees out and the engine was 210 degrz. i checked right before it blew ! i just bought mine the day after Christmas ! best thing i've bought since my 08 crf450r!!!!

I've delt with traxxas with a rod issue myself. first contact the hobby shop you got it from and they might replace the truck. if that doesn't work contact traxxas and they will get some info from you, then you send them the engine and they will look at it and fix or replace it depending on the damage. u'll have to pay for shipping though
