I have a 4908 that has had 3/4 gallon ran thru it. Broke in according to traxxas, never seen temps over 270. I pulled it out for a good cleaning and to loc tite some screws. I took the head and back plate off, thats it. Put it back together and, Nothin. It will start for about 3-5 secconds and die, it wont run. Took it to the shop, they can't find anything wrong. Any Ideas. The shop said everything looked ok. If I can't get it running, I guess it is going back to Traxxas.

Sounds like the glow plug to me. Have you ever changed it?
You should use this as a chance to learn something rather than just sending it back. Sounds like a very simple problem. If you really want to enjoy your nitro truck you'll need to learn things about them. I honestly wouldn't let my Local hobby shop change a wheel on my rigs. If I don't know what's wrong I just keep asking around or reading til I figure it out.

Changed the plug, not once but twice. I know its simple. Air,Fuel,Compression,spark=Boom
It is getting all four, and nothing.
where are your needles at, i'd start back at the factory settings and tune from there, its more than likely a tuning issue. You may say that you didn't touch the needles when you took it apart, but i honestly think its a tuning problem, these little nitro engines are very finicky, if you don't have the tune dead on close to perfect they wont run. go back to stock settings and go from there and see where it gets ya

Yeh Rob is on to something here. You may have an air leak too since you took off the backplate.
You could also turn the low needle in half a turn and see if it runs, if it does then warm it up and tune the high needle. Then turn the low needle back out at least 1/4 and tune from there. The low needle was probably rich to begin with. Make sure your idle is cool too.
Just make sure you low needle is already flush or slightly out from flush to begin with.

Why did you take the head and back plate off? sounds like a bad air leak. Also if you are breaking in an engine its normal to go through alot of glow plugs. you may want to replace the glow plug and check to see if you put the head together right.
