So I'm trying to tune the 3.3 in my Revo. It has @ 7 tanks on it now and I'm just wondering what temps other 3.3s run at. It's a new motor to me....so I'm not sure what temp I'm really shooting for here. Right now it sits @ 250ish and still seems like it has more tune to go. The LSN needs some leaning still, and the HSN seems to be almost there. I don't want to get this thing running too hot though. I know some guides I have read use 230 as a benchmark.

So if you have a 3.3....what temp does yours run at?

the safe point with this motor is 270 (according to the manuel) but i wouldnt go too much over 290. thats running pretty lean then.
but i would get the HSN tuned in good then work with the LSN.

230-250 usually but I took it out last week and it got to 319 then died, started right back up after cooling though, haven't looked at the head gasket but all seems well.

Alright....so I'm probably getting to some good numbers then. Just figured I would ask some real owners before taking the manual as gospel ;-)

240- 270 all traxxas motors love the 260-270 zone.. I've had multiple 3.3's, 2.5r's and 2.5's..

the 260-270 always seems to be the sweet spot

but personally 7 tanks id still be babying the motor

Mine actually ran good at 213 the other day. It depends on the weather I guess. Its a 3.3 also.

Mine is running in the 230-270 range on a normal day running 30% nitro. I agree with RB though they do seem to like the heat.

When is best time to take temp of the engine? I bash in a field by my house so i tend to have it under full or near full throttle a lot. I know i need to take temps after its warmed up. But should i take temp after a high speed pass, let it idle for a minute, run it slower to cool the head down?

I let mine idle for @ 1 min then take off full throttle and do 3 or 4 high speed passes and then temp it down the glow plug hole (or with an on board temp guage)

I check my temp after idling a minute then I make a few pass at a half throttle check it, then a few passes at WOT then check again. I also make random checks through out the day.

Hello...I'm sure there is another thread for this ? but now we are talking about 3.3 motor's and 7 tanks. I just broke mine in and it has 5 1/4 ran and I'm trying to get it to stand up. I hsave not messed with anything on it yet. Where do I start with HSN LSN?
Ran fast with no setting's how much more does this baby have :)
