3.3 diff same as 2.5??

i recently destroyed my rear diff. I notice on ebay they say the 3.3 will fit the 2.5 and that it comes with hardened gears. Would these be a wise purchase for an upgrade that won't break the bank and yet still add strength?

Also, my maxx was locked in the rear . Is this how they come stock? (i bought it used)

no they do not come like that stock(locked)--my advise spend the money and get the Maximizer's,---I got them and love them, never had a diff problem since.

like this? Will that have everything i need? the plastic housing was destroyed so i am guessing i need that too?
