Well i kind of got my Revo wet, it flipped completely over in a puddle and stalled out. Now i can barely get the motor to run, it will start every once in a while if i keep it at full throttle, as soon as i let off the throttle it dies right away.
I also took the motor completely apart to see if anything was wront but i couldnt see anything visually that bad. Any ideas of what it could be?

Could be about $115 to exchange at the hobbie store (worst case scenario) Just thought I'd give my 2 cents :2cents:since nobody wants to touch this one... I've never gotten water into any of my nitros (knock on wood)

Might be a dumb question, but did you change the glow plug when you took the engine apart?

Yes i've tried multiple new glow plugs and it still wont run, I'm going to check for air leaks tomorrow. We'll see what happens, might have to do the exchange. I dont see the point in rebuilding it when its over have the price of a new motor.

Yeah, I wouldn't rebuild a Revo engine either. I'm not sure what else could be wrong.

When you say hou had the motor apart how far apart. I mean did you just tear the head off, or did you completely tear it down to check connecting rod ect..

Sorry to bust in...

I had my 3.3 apart (completely) What do I check for ? I thought the engine was screwed cause it ran like crap. I thought it was compression related. When I got my new 3.3, I put it in the truck and put the pull starter on the old engine just to keep the parts together... When I pull it over. It is as hard to pull over as the new 3.3.

Maybe I just had bad bearings. When they go bad they leak air ??? Could this have made my revo such a bugger to start. (assuming I had a clue tuning it correctly).

what things should I check for inside the used engine.

I had the motor completely apart, i mean the crank out and everything. Could this be the front bearing leaking? cause the piston and sleeve looked decent.

Water getting into a hot engine can do ALOT of damage... Like I've said I've never gotten water into a nitro and I don't bother with Traxxas engines when it comes to taking them apart.... Maybe it's cuz I'm getting older but I would rather spend the $115 and be head-ache free.... Still if it's a money issue for you, I know how that goes.... no simple answer here. An engine needs 3 things to work.... Air, fuel, and compression. To check for air leaks check this video...

i flipped my jato right after i got it into a small creek and it stalled out as well #1 thing i did was remove the plug and air filter and filled the compressions chamber up with ARO.. After letting it sit for a while i use the wand to turn the motor over a few times i would turn it for about 5 seconds and then add more oil (I'm a little ocd when it comes to 150 dollar motors) But after i did that a few times i put a new plug and filter in and re hooked up the fuel lines and then proceeded to start it as i normally would do

dont know if this helps but hope so =)
