ok, well i decided that i am gonna start saving for a .28 engine. what is the best .28 engine? the SS 4.6 engine, wasp .28, Sh .28 or if there is any better please mention them. and with all these engines do i just buy the engine? so pritty much is the savage .25 capable of all these motors.

Some of the great ones to look at are:

Wasp .28
SH .28
Novarossi .28
and the Collari .30

Even the Novarossi can be had on ebay for 200.00 and I think it is probably the best out of that list, maybe the Collair which is right around 200.00 too. I personnaly own a wasp .28 and its a kick ass engine. Any of the ones on that list will be a great engine, but I wouldn't get the SH, I hear it has awesome low end but it doesn't spin very many RPMs at all. The wasp's claimed max is 42,800 which is awesome.
 
I have nothing but positive things to say about the SH.28. Since I fired iy up it has made more power every tank. I couldnt be happier. $150 to my door (and I have seen it cheaper) was worth every penny.
 
I also love my SH 28, $132 Shipped to my door and been a charm since.

With these big engines make sure you take the time to break it in right

Where did you order your SH from? I want to order one but I haven't seen them for under $150.

novarossi based .28's are the best you will find. i regularly see them on ebay for right around 200 shipped, in fact its where i got mine.

The NR 528XRP is the baddest motor around IMO.. I would get one if I could ever find one in stock.

yeah the nova .28's are insane. i have seen a .21 in a buggy and it was relentless. the novarossi .28 will be in my savage in a short time. ill try to get some vids.
 
No one talks about the diablo because its basically the same thing as the wasp .28 just different colors. Same specs. MAd- maxx collari .30 all the way I love mine
 
I own a Top .28 and it ran great for about a gallon and then it wouldn't tune ..I tried everthing and finally found the carb was junk..Changed to a Wasp .26 carb and it runs fine now..And I thought Nova engines were top of the line..I guess they all make bad parts from time to time..
