I believe I have tuned my .25 pretty good. Nice clean take offs with no hesitation, clean low speed with no sputters, very fast in WOT with clean shifting. I have taken temperature readings with my duratrax temp. reader and come up with readings between 260 and 285.
Is this pretty good especially with hot 90 degree weather and complete tank full runs?
Not sure how accurate the duratrax temp gun is since I just bought it, but was wondering what temps I should be looking out for on the .25?

Thanks
RJ

Are those temps taken w/ the body on or off?

If they are w/ the body on, then those temps sound pretty good. I have the Duratax temp guage too & run around the same thing when the temps outside are around 90 degrees. So far, by reading what you described, it sounds like you really have the engine dialed in nice. I would just make sure that you don't run up over 285, or even run at that temp for a long time. Other than that, keep bashing.

Later....:mex:

Yes, that is with the body on.....even at idle, the temp drops down to about 240-260.

LOL...most of those books would also have you believe that your engine should never go over 300. Yet, there are engines out there that only perform well when the temp is over 300. 285 is running a bit on the hot side, but is nothing to worry about as long as you have the performance you want, plenty of smoke when running, and the engine is not stalling of its own accord (indicating an overheat condition).

My factory engine always seemed to run hot anyway. You can always get a different cooling head to help with temps. The Nova Race Pro head does wonders.
