Should there be a red x on the bottom of the box? Or do all of the new .25 come with lock tite already applied to the bolts for the backplate? Has this problem been taken care of by HPI. Thanks!

P.W.

Just trying to help my brother inlaw out, he may get one tomorrow

just go back and relock tite them, it takes about 10 min.

The red X don't mean crap. I've seen the red X and no loc-tite. Like pissant said, re-do them anyway. It's added insurance and a piece of mind.

I didn't have a red x on my box and my bolts had loctite on them but I decided to retighten them again anyway, I also recommend that you do the same.

NEVER, and I mean NEVER, trust ANY R.C. company to loc-tite ANYTHING, EVER, properly.

From R.C.'s to real life 1:1 toys like snowblowers etc.. I have NEVER seen an RTR or semi built kit come with every screw properly tightened or loc-tite.

Like others have said, its well worth the time spent to make certain it was done right. And like my Pa always said, if you want something done RIGHT you have to do it YOURSELF!

what will happen if i dont do it and it comes off? will it screw up the engine?

okay, i just finished. striped my allen key while doing it :(

i did the paper trick to align my gears, but theres a little bit of play in them, is this normal? i dont remember if there was play earlier

Yes, a little play is normal. Thats why you use the paper. It prevents them from being PACKED together with no play whatsoever.
