Went to my LHS to get some fuel for my new 2.5 and they suggested WildCat 20/14 blend even for break-in. I mentioned to them that Traxxas says Top Fuel which is a 20/18 blend, and they said the 18% causes engines to not run very well (especially during break-in) because of the extra oil content. The WildCat was only 22.00/gallon so I picked one up.

Now I'm having second thoughts: of course Traxxas says to use Top Fuel, but I wouldnt expect them to say otherwise. So I figured id ask around here (I know the fuel question is asked about a billion times, but I couldnt find anything for or against using a 14% oil fuel during break-in).

Thanks in advance!!!

Its your call on that one,
If you are an experienced Nitro user you may be able to get away with using it.

If this is your first nitro, I wouldn't use it. The more Oil content the fuel has the more forgiving it will be. You may want to chill until you find a fuel with more oil content.

If you have no choice but to use this fuel you can add some castor oil to boost the content. Do a search on "castor oil" and you may find more info on this subject.

Yeah, that was my ultimate decision............since its unopened I think the WildCat can sit for a little. Going out to get some Top Fuel 20/18 right now, figured since this is my first break in ever Ill need to be forgiven a little :)

Thanks!!!
