Its in the title! Lets take a vote, who would rather run 4-wheel or 2-wheel on there nitro's..:)

4 wheel drive any day all day.

4 wheel! We have had 2 wheel guys come out with us and its nearly a joke! We play up in the woods alot so its neccessary!

4WD with a locked rear diff! When you get stuck with left front and right rear (or vice versa) in the air you're screwed, but with a locked rear diff, that problem vanishes! if you havent tried it, I strongly recommend it!

I am for 4 whell drive but against the locked diffs unless you have a crawler. The locked diff causes strain on the entire drive-line and makes the truck handle like a Tyko toy. I do however use heavy diff oil in the rear to stiffen it up. Stiff yes...locked no.

Stiff Diff oil? Hmmmmmmmm..... Maybe better....... Will it be able to pull out of a sticky situation with one wheel?

You bet it will. I run 150k I think in the rear diff. It is nice a stiff but still has some diff action when you are turning. I am against the locked diff after I shelled a transmission after one tank of installing it. If you put it on pavement and try to turn with any power on at all the tranny shells or you twist out a drive shaft. I think I still have pictures somewhere of it. I was pretty PO'd about it. Hard lesson learned. About all lockers are good for is crawling and sled dragging.

Yeah i use four wheel as well, and for locking diff, i got a locking hub from integy, no more messy oil in the diffs, this is a locked rod with metal spool true posy i use it all the time refuse to take it out!!! sorry but integy was sold out of them three days after ordering mine then i had to wait a month so they can be hard to find but go for 10 bucks works great!!

The one i got is part number: t3691BLUE "lock diff hub spool for t-maxx 3.3" would take a picture of it for you guys but I'm not taking it out for a picture sorry :):)

i use the lock diff in the rear, and used black magic gasket maker in the front dif, even if the gasket stuff dries it is rubbery so easy to clean, but see mine never dried, after sealing it up it thickened a lot but never dried giving it very little slip and could clean it out any day so that is one way, some people use play-doh, jb weld, epoxy's, as well as thick oil....

I will once again say locking the diff is a bad idea if you EVER touch anything but dirt or low traction surfaces. I am no GURU but I have personally seen what it will do to a driveline. I would never make a suggestion to someone that could end up doing have to their RC. Do a search on locking the diff and you will find way more people that have the same opinion as me.

I agree with you most definitely, were i only run my maxx off road, lately in the snow, but street racing i imagine would tear it up just turning it around in the road will cause it to hop one tire, so you are very correct and a good tip i did not think of! :)

That is the very reason I do not suggest it to some one. All it takes is one time of not thinking and drop it on some pavement and you have a shelled diff. So my play it safe answer is don't do it and use heavey diff oil in in. That way you get the diff action still but is also nice a heavy. Since my T-Maxx has the Ofna Spyder 6 gear set-up, 100k is darn near locked but still drives fairly well.

I got my truck with RWD only, and it SUCKED. added the front diff and shafts to restore 4x4 and I now know why it is 4x4 from the factory. it is night and day in this heavy truck. 4x4 all the way.
