well i started to do the breaking in my new savage .25 rtr and on the first tank it was ok the temp went up to 180 and i let it idle thru all the the tank...I'll let it cool down for about 20 minutes then when i started to do the second tank of fuel i decided that i would just run it in circle so i could bring the temps a little 200 cause that the best temp to have when breaking in a new engine...So i started to run it around and then checked my temps i only had around 160 so i decide to open it wot to bring the temps up as fast as possible but i coudln't...So i ran basically the second WOT and my temps were still 170 to 180...and then i tried a jump and landed upside down.....after my tank was done this is wut my cooling head looked like...

I wouldn't sweat that. You may want to check to make certain that a bent fin isn't the only thing your engine suffered.

I have a header that has several fins bent together. Still does its job just fine. But always check to make certain that none of the head bolts got sheared or loosened.

I would see if I could ease a bottle opener under the lip of that top fin and g-e-n-t-l-y bend it back.

The ol' zipties mighta saved ya.

Been there done that, run it. It sucks when you brake the whole fin off, looks like sh**.

That sucks, but you shouldn't have opended it up on only the 2nd tank. That was mistake number one. Lastly you shoudn't have put it on the ground for the second tank. It still shoud have been on the bench idling.

Agreed, No worries about the net cooling head as it's just cosmetic but you DEFINITELY shouldn't be going WOT that early in break in.

Peace
